The R4 3DS works by allowing your 3DS/ 3DS XL console to support an external emmory card, this means that using the R4i-SDHC card allows you to both store and playback your entire media collection using your console. There is no need for expensive new devices, or messy software/ cables, you just choose what you wish to playback using the R4-3DS, transfer it onto the memory card, and then pop that into your console.
One of the reasons the R4i SDHC 3DS card has become so popular, is its support for the latest firmware for the 3DS and 3DS XL console, along with the fact that setup takes less than 5 minutes, without the need for any technical knowledge.
To begin setting up the R4 3DS you will need either a mIcro SD or SDHC memory card, this will be used to store your media files. This memory card, roughly the same size as a 1p coin, inserts into the R4 which then inserts into the 3DS console itself. You simply connect the memory card to your PC using the included memory card reader, which allows you to transfer your files from your PC to your memory card. Once this is done you simply take the memory card and insert it into your R4-3DS device, which then inserts into the slot 1 on your console.
Average setup time is under 5 minutes, even for the least technical person.
